24.5" ViewSonic XG2530 gaming monitor performance benchmarks

For the extremely fast frame rates, the ViewSonic XG2530 has a maximum refresh rate of 240 Hz that allows smoother gameplay. The minimum response rate of ViewSonic XG2530 is 1 ms, which is eliminates ghosting effects. The ViewSonic XG2530 has the Display Port and this is essential for NVIDIA cards to work with AMD FreeSync. ViewSonic XG2530 has a total input lag of 8 ms, which is excellent among the competition. For the average response rate, the ViewSonic XG2530 scores 4 ms, which ensures effective synchronization with the high refresh rate. With the AMD FreeSync support, this monitor is compatible with both AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards. The brightness of ViewSonic XG2530 is significantly better than other monitors. In terms of pixel density, the ViewSonic XG2530 has an excellent density of 89 pixels-per-inch, resulting in sharper text and picture quality. To compensate for graphically demanding games, the ViewSonic XG2530 has a very good low end adaptive refresh rate of 24 Hz that can adapt to more lower frame rate drops. The monitor has a VESA mount. The ViewSonic XG2530 is a relatively new monitor. The monitor uses a TN panel which suffers from color shifting when viewed from horizontal and vertical angles and has slightly washed colors compared to IPS and VA panels. For graphics color quality, the ViewSonic XG2530 has an average color depth of 6 -bit, resulting in dithered gradients and more slightly less accurate colors. The monitor has an unimpressive contrast ratio of 1000 : 1.

Viewsonic XG2530 240hz with a Nvidia Card

Hi Chris Eberle, thanks very much for your review on the XG2530 monitor, hoping you could help please. I may have missed something, and am probably just a touch confused. I have a mid end PC i5 at 3.2 with a 1060 gtx and want a new monitor and think this is the one for me, however am grappling with the idea of spending more to get a gsync. Although my card is Nvidia rather than AMD will this monitor still give me the higher refresh rates, will it just sit at a high refresh rate rather than "adaptively" changing to suit my card? I'm just a little confused , or would you recommend, considering I wont change the card for a while, that I spend 0 more and get a 144hz gsync? I do like the 240hz idea but, if due to Freesync, it wont look that nice then I'd be wasting money. Would love to hear your thoughts, thanks in advance.
