It is worth noting that the RTX 3070 is a very power hungry card and requires a decent power supply unit. In terms of memory, the RTX 3070 's 8192 MB RAM is more than enough for modern games and should not cause any bottlenecks. This combination between RTX 3070 and Intel Core i5-4670 @ 3.40GHz has less than 15% bottleneck in many games and can cause minor FPS loss. 4K gaming is joyous on this RTX 3070 , and with a little tweaking to your AA settings, it'd be hard to imagine a title not capable of 60 fps on average.

The RTX 3080 might be the high-end flagship of the latest Ampere set of graphics cards, but their prices keep them out of the reach of most mid-range PC gamers. On the other hand, the RTX 3070 is closer to being reasonably affordable at a price tag of $ 499. NVIDIA ’s xx70 cards have always been defined by mid-range prices with performance that knocks on the door of high-end graphics cards – especially when overclocked. After taking the time to fully test the Ampere graphics card inside the RTX 3070, we can say without a doubt that it continues the trend.

In our synthetic benchmarks, the RTX 3070 blows past the RTX 2070, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER and, amazingly, even the RTX 2080 as well. Unfortunately, gaming performance was not quite as impressive. Even if the RTX 3070 consistently delivers frame rate increases over the RTX 2070, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, the gain is not much to justify an upgrade.

For 1080p Full HD, we were able to play Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Metro Exodus, Borderlands 3, Anthem at 84 fps to 126 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 104 fps. For 1440p Quad HD, we were able to play Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Metro Exodus, Borderlands 3, Anthem at 69 fps to 99 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 80 fps.

For 2160p 4K, we were able to play Final Fantasy XV, Hitman 2, Gears of War 5, Need For Speed: Heat, Far Cry 5 at 62 fps to 74 fps and kept frame rates hovering around 66 fps.
