i7-7700K

I am stucked in between 2 builds i am going to buy. The first one is i5 8600k paired with evga gtx 1080ti sc and the other is i7 7700k paired with asus rog strix 1080ti. I have read that the i5 8600k beats the 7700k by 10% in performance. On the other hand the i5 is using more cpus to around 99% when 7700k at the same time is 80%. I will be doing gaming mostly, so not sure which might be the wise decision.
For gaming, I would pick the the I7-7700K or i7-8700K (same price). If you are on more of a budget, then the I5-8600K would be the best bet.

I'm purely looking for an upgrade in CPU terms for gaming. I've seen a lot of benchmarks and talk around about these 2 CPUs.
I'm pairing it with a 1080, and 16gb of RAM. Just wanted some opinions on which of these would be better at this stage for pushing the highest FPS and which would purely be the better option going into the future.
Thanks.
so my CPU is stock so boost clock is 4.5 Ghz and normal clock is 4.2 Ghz.
When my system is idle and i have Task Managed/Performance tab open my speeds are ranging from 1.2 Ghz to 4.8 Ghz and it randomly spikes. For example it goes from 4.2 to 4.5 to 4.07 to 3.70 to 3.02 to 1.2 etc etc etc. I have the Corsair H100i V2 and just replaced the thermal paste yesterday, temperatures also range and spike from 30C to 41 to 50 to 75 at times and it just keeps going. I have all my fans on 100% and my pump is set on performance. Im no expert but this does not seem good to me. Any recommendations you may have?
Long story short, I spent some money on a 1060 6gb about 5 months ago. Recently I decided I was going to upgrade my PC with my budget being closer to the low 1000s.
I am guessing I'll have all the money ready and order the parts in February-April 2018.
Since my old CPU is quite aged, an i7-870 at that, I wanted a new CPU that will hold me well for the next 5 years, being future proof as possible.
I am debating whether to get an i7 7700k or the newest i7 8700k. I don't plan on, or rather, would not like to upgrade my GPU for at least maybe another half year or so, since I just spent money recently on the 1060. So eventually, I will upgrade.
I just wanted to know if there could be any problems with this decision, or what could improve.
I have a msi raider with a gtx1070 i7 7700K after a month of getting normal fps on games one day i started to get 30 fps on most games and i noticed with msi afterburner my cpu was on full load while my gpu sits at 30%. I know it cant be bottlenecking because my cpu is good.. Please someone help!

What are the major differences in processors and is it worth the 0 difference? I'm trying to build a high-end gaming pc.
Thanks!
I am an older gentleman and use my computer for banking and web browsing and online shopping will I see a noticeable difference with the k model? It is all somewhat confusing
Hey guys, as the tittle says I am having some problems with my computer I do not know where the problem is but when playing games like Assassin's creed odyssey I see fps drops into the high 30's which considering the components I have I don't know if it is normal. Same goes for Ghost Recon Wildlands, in certain areas my fps drops to the 30's. Usually my gpu usage is around 60-90% with temperatures around 50-60 Celsius while my CPU usually has around 80-100% Usage with temperatures around 60-80 Celsius. I reinstalled all my drivers even went so far as to reinstall my windows. Here is my 3dmark Firestrike results https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/30303469.
So I have no clue if there is anything wrong with my components or this is the fps I should be getting also am I beeing bottlenecked by my cpu ? And if so should I swap my i7 7700k with a i7 5960x or a Ryzen 7 2700x ?
